Hand putting money on piggy bank

Having a stable 9-5 that ends up being an 8-6 in addition with a couple hours on the weekend is great. However, for a lot of us our 9-5 doesn’t reflect our passion or it doesn’t allow for us to do more than just paying our bills. Living from check to check is exhausting and in many ways devastating mentally. Fortunately, we are living in an era where a lot of activities are automated and working from home or on the go is possible. So, let’s jump right in, shall we?

1. Start a drop shipping store!

Drop shipping is becoming one of the most popular ways of creating an additional source of income. Drop shipping allows you to build your own business and set your own prices without worrying about packaging or abandoned stock piles! Check out some of these top websites to start your business: BigCommerce, Wix eCommerce, Weebly, Squarespace, and Shopify

2. Run a Blog

Blogging is becoming more and more popular! With unlimited access to internet connection and the numerous platforms that are available today, blogging has become an effective way to generate a passive income stream. Truth is that this method requires a methodological and consistent effort, but good content gets rewarded well. Sounds good? Start your career as a blogger on one of the following platforms: WordPress, Wix, Medium, Ghost, Blogger or Weebly.

3. Sell Your Pictures

If you own a smartphone with a legitimate camera quality, then you have just enough to jump on this method of making passive income! There are a number of applications available in multiple platforms that will accept your photography and will give you the chance to put it up for sale! Foap, Snapwire, Alamy, Etsy, and Shutterstock are just a few platforms that will allow you to join the photo market sale.  Owning a professional camera will be a plus, but if you do not have one, don’t let that discourage you! There are a number of applications out there that can make your pictures look professional and appealing!

If you have not put it on in months, then you might as well sell it before it loses its value! Going to the local thrift store or boutique can be an immediate way to get some cash, but you can actually make a lot more money if you choose to sell your things online. The number of applications that allow you to profit from your possessions is increasing exponentially. Poshmark, Mercari, Letgo, Vinted, Facebook and Craigslist are just a few of the available and very well known platforms!

5. Host AirBnb

The number of influencers, vloggers, bloggers, food lovers, photographers, and artists that travel increases exponentially. Traveling the world is the new trend and there is no better way to profit off this movement by offering a place where these ambitious individuals can lay their heads during their stay! Airbnb’s   one of the most popular alternatives to hotels, inconsistent friends, and annoying relatives. More and more travelers look into an Airbnb option and the amazing side to it is that you don’t need to have an entire house or apartment for rent, just a room will do!

6. Begin Freelance Writing

Freelance writing allows you to work from home or on the go with a mobile device. Although how much work you will have is unknown and depends on the quality of the content, it is a side hustle that allows you to predict how much you can make. Charge base on the quality you bring and you will create a trust and loyal relationship with your clients. The best opportunities are on Problogger. However, if you are just getting your feet wet, try building your portofolio on Craigslist, Upwork, and Fiverr.

 7. Become an Instagram Influencer!

It sounds absolutely cliché, but only when you think of the annoying ‘influencers’, and yes  I definitely said annoying and quoted the word influencers. An influencer should be someone that motivates you, drives you or inspires you to take an action that will better you and benefit you in some way. Nowadays, the value of many of the existing influencers is degrading and existing influencers are starting to look the same. This is where you come in. Bring your passion, your talent, your transparency and honesty when it comes to making individuals or the world a better place and watch your following grow! Also, something to really have in mind is that it’s not much about the number of followers, but the level of engagement that occurs in your profile. Remember, consistency is key! We will be posting more on how to create an appealing and efficient Instagram profile, stay tuned!

8. Become a part of the Gig Economy

What is the Gig Economy? Well, it’s a labor market characterized of short-term contracts and freelance work! You can find gigs from designing birthday invitations to helping someone build their social media platforms. These types of opportunities allow for freedom and variety. Check out Fiverr and Upwork to begin your journey and learn more about these types of opportunities.

Cool tip: As Fiverr is a platform that values your credibility based on reviews. In the beginning of your journey, you could pay a friend or two to purchase your gig and give an all star review! This will definitely help you get a head start!
